MUFA Winter Goaltimate Season 2 - 2026

Winter Goaltimate (Indoors)

Goaltimate (or Goalty for short) is a half-court frisbee game that combines elements of basketball and ultimate, with goals scored by throwing a disc through a large hoop to a teammate on the other side. It's a fast-paced and fun alternative to traditional Ultimate.

Late Winter Youth Programming

We have several opportunities for middle and high schoolers in January and February.

FMP Pickup with UW Bella Donna (MS and HS)

MUFA and UW-Madison Bella Donna, a nationally competitive college frisbee team participating in the women's division, are happy to announce youth winter indoor pickup for middle and high-school level female-matching players (FMPs). Anyone who would prefer to play in a girl's or women's division or guard female-matching players in mixed-gender ultimate is eligible to participate, including those who are non-binary or transgender.

This opportunity is available at no cost! Just make sure to have a parent/guardian fill out the form and waiver before participating. While this opportunity is free to all players, you are also able to thank/support our volunteers on Bella Donna with their travel costs for the season via Paypal: https://paypal.me/uwWomensUltimateFris?country.x=US&locale.x=en_US

This space is meant to be a welcoming, safe space to participate as part of the youth FMP community, learn the sport, bring friends to try out ultimate, and have a good time! This is an excellent space for players to get comfortable on the field, to recruit new players for your spring school-based teams, to connect with other Madison youth FMPs, or to just have fun playing ultimate this winter!

No experience is necessary to participate -- Bella Donna players will help explain rules of the game and basic strategy to new players who are trying the sport for the first time, so bring your friends! For more experienced players, this is a chance to learn from Bella Donna players and coaches, expand on specific skills, and warm up your skillset in advance of the Spring season.

Bella Donna players and coaches will help to chaperone, teach new skills, and fill-in playing as numbers are needed so that we're always able to play ultimate, no matter how many people are able to make it on a given week.

Pickup Dates and Locations:

  • Saturday, January 17

  • Saturday, January 24

  • Saturday, January 31

  • Saturday, February 7

All sessions are from 2-3:30 PM at I’m Possible Training, 5018 Blazing Star Dr, Madison, WI.

Hearts and Hammers Hat Tournament (HS FMPs)

Calling all HS FMPs - what could be more fun than spending Valentine’s Day (afternoon) playing frisbee?  Join us February 14 from 2:30-7:30 at the LaFollette High School Fieldhouse for a 4v4 hat tournament (we’ll put everyone’s names in a metaphorical hat to draw teams).  Sign up with a friend (maybe someone who doesn’t know they love frisbee yet?) and get to know other players across the Madison community.

This tournament is open to players in 8th through 12th grades, and 7th graders with parental permission. Anyone who would prefer to play in a girl's or women's division or guard female-matching players in mixed-gender ultimate is eligible to participate, including those who are non-binary or transgender.  Parents/guardians should fill out the form and waivers here to sign their player up: https://forms.gle/44JUt9Dgi494kvmg8.
